Crystal Box Office Theater
The Crystal Box Office Theatre charges $3 on weekdays and $5 on weekends for some of the biggest blockbusters. Weekend prices only inched up $2 over the past two decades with a 1998 playbill showing tickets cost $3.Concessions are also affordable at $5.50 for a large popcorn and pop combo.
Based in Crystal, a mid-Michigan town of less than 3,000 people, the Crystal Box Office Theatre was built in 1946 from a World War II Quonset Hut. Cost effective and quick to assemble, Quonset Hut theaters became popular in small communities after the war, but only a handful remain today.

Originally named Carson City Lanes, the bowling alley was owned by the same family until 2022 and was renamed Retro Lanes at that time. At the time the bowling alley was built, they hired boys as pinsetters until 1957 when the pinsetting equipment that is currently being used was installed.
Beginning in January 2026, Retro Lanes is now locally owned and operated with new owners and new hours!
